Privacy Policy

AccBook takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

1. What Data We Collect

When you use AccBook, we collect and store:

• Your name and email address (for account creation and login)
• Your password (stored as a secure encrypted hash — never in plain text)
• Financial data you enter — expenses, income, categories, credit card details, and notes
• Session tokens to keep you logged in

We do not collect your device information, location, browsing history, or any data beyond what you explicitly enter.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used only to:

• Provide the AccBook service — showing your expenses, income, and reports
• Keep you logged in securely
• Allow you to export your own data

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any other purpose.

3. Data Isolation

Every user's data is completely isolated. Your expenses, income, and financial information are linked to your account only. No other user — including family members using the same app — can see your data.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use standard security practices to protect your data from unauthorized access.

5. We Never Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal or financial data with any third party. Ever. AccBook has no advertisers and no data partnerships.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

AccBook uses the following to store data in your browser:

• Session cookie (sw_tok) - a secure login token stored as an HTTP-only cookie. This keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is deleted when you sign out.
• Local storage - used to save your app preferences such as theme (light/dark mode), currency, last used category, and recurring expense tags. This data never leaves your device.

We do not use any third-party cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking cookies. AccBook has no analytics, no ads, and no external tracking of any kind.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us through accbook.in and we will permanently delete everything within 7 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Export all your data at any time using the Export feature in Settings
• Request deletion of your account and all data
• Update your personal information through the app

9. Children's Privacy

AccBook is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of AccBook after changes means you accept the updated policy.
